It was announced today that Walt Disney World will not be opening it’s water parks until March 7th of 2021.
This opening is pending government and local officials approval.
The opening date is subject to change as Disney continues to focus on safety of Cast Members and Guests in this fluid situation. Additionally Disney has not announced which park will be opened at that time. Rather, they have stated they will decide closer to opening which water park will open first.
Disney is aware that this will affect many guest of the resort in the early 2021 months, and Annual Passholders, with existing tickets. In response several options are being offered to guests to resolve the inconvenience.
For ticket add ons such as Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports Option. Guests can keep their current dated ticket, and the water park options will be removed. Ticket options available for current purchase that include Park Hopper Plus or Water Park and Sports will be available for admissions being on March 7th. Water park tickets will automatically extend any unused unexpired tickets through December 31, 2021.
Guests that have existing Premier Passport, Platinum Plus Pass, Water Parks Annual Pass, Water Parks After 2 Annual Pass will receive an extension of their pass equal to the amount of days the parks were closed or a full refund should they decide to cancel.
This can be altered by calling the Disney Reservation Center to cancel, or put the value of a ticket to a future stay. Water park annual passes will also be automatically extended for the period of which both parks were closed. Passholders also have the option to cancel their tickets for this season altogether.
