Walt Disney World To Open

BREAKING- During a presentation to the Florida Economic Task for today- Walt Disney World announced it will begin it’s phased reopening on Saturday July 11th for Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, and July 15th for EPCOT AND Hollywood Studios theme parks. 

This phased plan for reopening will include the following areas of the resort:

• Magic Kingdom- July 11th 2020

• Animal Kingdom- July 11th 2020

• Hollywood Studios- July 15th 2020

• EPCOT- July 15th 2020

As we have seen in the Shanghai Disney reopening- Social distancing guidelines will be implemented. These will include- temperature checks for all guests and cast members, virtual queues, requirement of masks for both guests and cast members, reduced contact points for both cast members and guests, additional installation of hand sanitizing stations and protocols, and use of reduced capacity. Contactless payment and a cashless Environment will be encouraged. 

Signage will be placed throughout the parks reinforcing the new social distancing and sanitation protocols. In addition Disney has added several notices to the My Disney Experience App, educating guests of the new protocols and risks of travel during the pandemic. 

A New Theme Park reservations system will be implemented as well. This will allow guests to reserve their theme park visit prior to the date of arrival. More will be released on this at a later date. 

Parades, fireworks and other attractions that draw large close crowds will be temporarily suspended. 

This plan for phased reopening plan is to be voted on today by the economic task force today. After approval Is obtained further approval from the Mayor and the Governor will be required. These approvals are expected shortly.
